Moore Berg Road Trip 2016-Omaha

Tuesday afternoon we made it to Omaha and settled into the hotel. After checking in and unpacking we headed to a family friend of Matt's (the Siegling's) for a playdate and supper. Eloise had a great time with Graham and Lilly! Wednesday morning we enjoyed breakfast at our hotel and took a short swim in the pool before naptime. When Eloise woke up we packed up the room, headed to Runza for lunch and then went to the Omaha Zoo! Favorites included the aquarium (the penguins were especially busy), the polar bear and the gorillas. Before leaving the zoo we enjoyed a little ice cream then hit the road back to Mankato.

I would say our first family road trip was a huge success!

Moore-Berg Road Trip 2016-Kansas City

On Sunday afternoon we drove from Urbandale to Kansas City. We made a rest stop just over the Missouri boarder to stretch our legs and snap a family photo. Once in Kansas City, we checked into our hotel and unpacked then headed out for some supper at Gate's BBQ. It was delicious! On the way back to the hotel we stopped at the WWI memorial which had some great views of the city. Monday we enjoyed a delicious breakfast at the hotel and went for a swam before Eloise took a nap. While she slept, Matt went to the Harry Truman Library in Independence MO. When Matt got back we checked out the Crown Center on a recommendation from Ginger who works at Embassy Suites. After a pizza lunch we went to Sea Life Kansas City. Eloise loved looking at all the fish and aquatic animals! We headed back to the hotel for Eloise to take a nap before driving to Overland Park, KS to meet up with one of Matt's college friends for supper. Andy gave us a tour of the house he and his wife, Alison are renovating and then we went to the most delicious burger place called BRGR. After supper we went back to the hotel and put Eloise to bed.

Day two in Kansas city started the same (breakfast and a swim in the pool, followed by a nap for Eloise). When she woke up, we packed up the car and Matt dropped Eloise and I off at Union Station and headed to the WWI Museum. While he explored the museum we went to Body Worlds (so interesting!) followed by Science City (amazing!). Matt picked us up and we checked out Aurther Bryant's BBQ for lunch which was delicious and worth the line we had to wait in. After lunch we hit the road to Omaha.

We made it to Missouri!
