PJ Day!!

What do you do when it is rainy, windy and cold out? Have a jammie day, of course! Yesterday, the weather took a sharp turn toward fall. It was rainy most of the day....we even had a little sleet in the afternoon. The wind has picked up here over the past week or so but the temperature has still been pretty mild for late October. However, yesterday and today the high temps are only in the mid-forties. Not weather I want to be out in and certainly not ideal weather for an infant. I'm afraid our days of long walks on the trail are limited. Matt and I have talked about Eloise and I becoming "mall walkers" so we might have to check that out soon. It would be difficult to walk the mall and not give in to the delicious smells that come from Caribou though.....

We've also been writing down Eloise's feedings and naps in hopes of finding some patterns to develop more of a routine/schedule for her. She still wakes twice during the night for feedings so many of the recommended schedules I've found online are for babies who sleep through the night. I think I've found one that I like as it isn't really a schedule but more of a routine and goes off of when she wakes up in the morning. We will see what we can come up with over the next few days and weeks.

Here are some pictures from our jammie day:

More Lovely Fall Weather

Yesterday we had to get outside and enjoy more of the nice fall weather. Almost 80 degrees in Mankato on October 19th! In the morning we took a two hour walk....Walter slept the rest of the day!

Here are some photos of us enjoying the warm temps!

Walking the Trail

Every morning Walter, Eloise and I like to take a walk on the Red Jacket Trail since it is only blocks from our house. Walter likes when we meet the "birdseed man" as he also has dog treats! Eloise likes to look up at the trees and we talk about the leaves changing colors and now falling off the trees. She typically falls asleep and takes a nice nap while we walk too. We also see two very large Blue Jays in the same spot most days. They are the biggest Blue Jays I've ever seen! Some days we also see Cardinals and one morning saw two deer right next to the trail. On Thursday we had the unfortunate luck of seeing not one, but two snakes....yikes!

Here are some pictures of us before and on our walks at various times this fall.
