Hi! I'm Eloise!

Hey there! I'm Eloise and this blog is all about me! Check back to see the adventures I go on as I teach my mom and dad all about being parents.

Here's a little more about me:

I was born on Tuesday, July 14th at 4:00 am. Mommy and Daddy checked into the hospital the night before thinking I was going to come into the world the regular, old-fashioned way. Little did they know but I had decided to flip around so I was butt first! That meant I had to be born by c-section and they found out I was flipped because my heart rate dropped every time Mommy had a contraction. They gave Mommy an IV with some fluids to help hydrate her. The doctor also ordered an ultrasound to check on me and the first thing the ultrasound technician said was, "well the baby's breech"!

All ready to go to the hospital.

Aunt Lucy excited to meet me.

Mommy all set to go to the operating room.

The doctors and nurses began to prep the operating room and Mommy for surgery and Daddy had to put on some blue, paper clothes over his regular clothes. Mommy had to drink a cup of liquid that tasted like a really concentrated sweet tart and talk to the OB and anesthesiologist. Then about fifteen minutes later the nurses came to get her to go to the operating room. Daddy had to wait until they had Mommy all ready to go. She got a shot in her back and had to squish her body around me while the needle was inserted. This was tricky because I had made her belly so big! Five minutes later Mommy couldn't feel her legs or belly. The doctor said "go get Matt" and Daddy got to come sit by Mommy. The nurse who went to get him told him "don't touch anything blue". Daddy said when he walked in the only thing that wasn't blue was Mommy's face!

Doctor Goerish started the surgery and less than five minutes later she said "Its a girl!" and I was born. It was 4:00 exactly in the morning on July 14th. Mommy says I was crying a lot which meant I was nice and healthy! Everyone kept telling Mommy how beautiful I was and a nurse brought me over so Mommy could see for herself. Daddy got to be right by me when they cleaned me up and wrapped me up nice and warm. Then they brought me back to lay a little on Mommy and we got to take our first pictures of a family of three! The doctor had to work a little more on Mommy so Daddy and I went to the nursery where they weighed and measured me and I got to snuggle with Daddy. On the way I got to meet Aunt Lucy and she was really excited to see me.

Brrrr!

Once the doctor finished putting Mommy back together she went to a special room with her nurse. After a little bit she got to come and visit me in the nursery. I was having a little trouble breathing deeply so I got to wear a special tube on my nose that helped me breath. This meant I had to stay in the nursery for a while so the nurses and pediatrician could make sure I was doing ok. Mommy and Daddy went to Mommy's room and took a little nap. While they were gone the doctor decided I needed an IV so I could get some special medicine to keep me from getting sick. Because I wasn't breathing very deeply, I had some trouble squishing out all the fluid in my lungs from when I was in Mommy's tummy. The doctor didn't want me to get sick from this so they gave me antibiotics just in case. That meant I had to stay in the nursery and only Mommy and Daddy and one other person could visit me at a time. I was sad that everyone couldn't hold me but happy that I never got sick. The first day I was alive I got to meet Aunt Lucy, Grandpa Gary, Grandma Margie, Aunt Erica, Uncle Andy, and Grampa & Gramma Moore! Gosh, I sure am lucky and loved!

Waiting to be discharged Sunday morning

Mommy & Daddy say I'm worth the wait!

We stayed in the hospital for five days and boy, we were ready to go home on Sunday morning. While we were there, we met some amazing nurses who helped take care of us. They were really great! When we got home, Aunt Lucy, Grandpa Gary and Grandma Margie came for a visit so they could snuggle me. After they went home we all took a nap cause coming home sure makes a girl tired!
Ready to go HOME!
